LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
“Growth begins at the edge of your comfort zone.”
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever been given is this: “Just go for it.” That simple reminder has helped me push past fear, self-doubt, and perfectionism. Not every leap has landed perfectly, but each one has made me braver and more open to life’s possibilities. It’s the kind of encouragement I hope to pass along to my clients, too.
Although I’m just beginning my journey at 616 Counseling, I’ve already been deeply inspired by the supportive energy here. From day one, I’ve felt welcomed and encouraged, especially by Shawn’s openness and commitment to helping each of us grow into the best version of ourselves, both for our clients and for our own development.
As a therapist, I bring creativity, drive, and compassion into the room. My goal isn’t to fix people’s problems, but to help them think for themselves, explore new perspectives, and feel truly heard. I work especially well with clients who are used to feeling misunderstood or overlooked, especially teens who may be tough on the outside, but still want to be seen and respected for who they are. When they feel safe, they open up, and that’s where the real work begins.
Clients often compliment me on my ability to think outside the box, and I try to bring that same flexibility and insight to every session. Even when I don’t have immediate proof that something is “working,” I stay committed, creative, and willing to grow because I believe in the process, and in my clients’ ability to change.
I live by the motto: “Pull your big girl panties up and deal with it.” It’s not always elegant, but it’s real. And it reminds me (and sometimes my clients) that we can face hard things with courage, humor, and determination.
