Elaine Abbott PhD, LPC, LCAT, MT-BC
Licensed Professional Counselor
I’m a licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and Michigan. I hold a Ph.D. in Music Therapy, and my professional journey has included serving as a tenured faculty member and Chair in the School of Music at Duquesne University. These experiences have shaped my deep appreciation for the healing power of creativity, connection, and personal expression.
In my work, I support individuals who are navigating worry, overwhelm, or difficult relationships—those moments when life feels especially heavy or unclear. I believe that being truly seen and heard is a powerful starting point for change. When we slow down and make space for your experiences, we can begin to explore what you want for your life and relationships, and how to move toward a sense of peace and purpose.
My approach integrates talk therapy with creative arts-based methods, depending on your needs and preferences. Together, we can explore how your thoughts, emotions, and patterns of relating to the world are impacting your life—and begin to make space for new possibilities.
I know that reaching out for support takes courage. If you’re considering counseling, I welcome you to contact me for an initial conversation. Together, we can explore whether this might be the right space for you to begin your next steps.
